National Association Of Photoshop Professionals Before I begin, I wish to thank some of my mentor's and friends in Photography who have helped me learn to see the light: David and Linda Smith Peggy Mcateer (Big Daddy) Don Blair Tim Kelly and other photographers I have learned with and been inspired by in the Professional Photographers of America and the Georgia and Florida Professional Photographers. At 11 I began attending weddings with my mom Patsy Gay Who is a Master Cake decorator. (I was in the back cleaning up) At 12 I received my first camera for Christmas. At 17 I bought my first professional camera and built my first darkroom, I then began to shoot and print my own work. Thinking I was a good photographer, I attended North Georgia Technical and Vocational School in 1981 and was introduce to some of the best photographers in the world. Receiving my degree in 1983, I spent several years working, at Studio West, as a photographer and lab manager. In 1991, Mainland Photography Studio was opened in Brunswick, GA My wedding style is a mixture of posed shots and action photojournalism photography. I like to have fun at weddings and try to make the formal pictures as painless as possible. I call my Style Storytelling with a Zen approach to the wedding day and events. ( I go with the flow.) Having photograph hundreds of of weddings and having learning about weddings from the service side, I know to watch for special moments, classic shots and details. I do a lot of close up, to tell the story with the emotions of your day, capturing your friends and families. The images are then placed in an album in storytelling order. My only set rules at wedding are I don't do table shots at wedding reception. Why? I think they are boring and I like to do hugge shots. (Groups shots, where everyone is hugging). Or formal groups were everyone is set. To help see each face.. Also, I never take pictures while anyone is eating ( With the exception of the cake cutting of course.) Formal does not mean every picture is perfectly posed. It just means a little fixing is done to make everyone look good to the camera. I love to take photos and for my enjoyment, go out and photography landscape and art photography.
